FAQs

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Asaid?

A referral from your General Practitioner is required in order to have a consultation with Dr. Asaid. Please obtain this letter prior to your initial appointment, and bring a copy along with you to your appointment.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please refer to the Your Initial Appointment page.

Do you see WorkCover and TAC patients?

Yes. Dr. Asaid is very experienced in dealing with the complex schemes of WorkCover and TAC, and will endeavour to ensure that the process is as streamlined as possible for you.

Do you see self-funded (uninsured) patients?

Yes. Dr. Asaid is available to see uninsured patients. If surgery is necessary, he will be able to refer you to be treated at one of his public hospital affiliations.

What are your fees?

Dr. Asaid is registered as a 'known gap' provider with all the major health funds. This means the majority of the cost for your surgery will be paid directly by Medicare and your private health insurance fund. In some instances, there may be a portion of your fees which will not be covered by Medicare or your health insurance fund.

I’m not sure if I want to have surgery, should I still come see you?

Consulting with Dr. Asaid about your injury/condition does not necessarily mean that surgery will be recommended and in most instances, surgery will not be required. It is important for you to understand your condition, and be informed about all treatment options available to you. Dr. Asaid works with leading Melbourne Physiotherapy clinics and allied health providers to ensure you have all the treatment options available to you.

What happens after surgery?

If you choose to undergo surgery, Dr. Asaid will guide you through your rehabilitation and ensure that you receive the highest quality of care for a speedy recovery.
